Hi, I’m Tanya Natazsha. A mixed media artist both by trade and passion. I’m medically diagnosed with ADHD: Predominantly Inattentive Presentation (ADHD-PI). Quiet on the outside, 47 tabs open in my brain. Also medically diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Living with GAD, my mind is basically a 24/7 research department specializing in hypothetical scenarios. And lastly, I’m also medically diagnosed with Perfectionistic Personality Traits, too. Even my chaos has quality-control standards.
Art Without the Need for Perfection
❝An artist learning to let go of control, one imperfect artwork at a time.❞
As a painter and sculptor exploring the intersection of art, psychology, and the beautifully complicated human mind.
Living with ADHD: Predominantly Inattentive Presentation (ADHD-PI), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and Perfectionistic Personality Traits, I’ve come to recognize how profoundly my psychological makeup influences the way I create.
I used to work primarily in hyperrealism, drawn to precision, intricate details, and the pursuit of technical perfection. Yet, ironically, the very perfectionism that drove my artistic ambitions often prevented me from finishing anything. I would overthink, revise, scrutinize, and endlessly chase an ideal that seemed to move further away with every brushstroke.
Eventually, I decided to challenge the way I create.
I’m now exploring intuitive art, expressive abstraction, experimental mark-making, and deliberately imperfect approaches to making art. I’m learning to embrace irregularities, unfinished edges, spontaneous gestures, unexpected textures, and happy accidents.
For me, this isn’t about abandoning artistic skill. It’s about discovering what happens when I stop trying to control every outcome.
Why Medium?
I’ve created my Medium as a personal creative space to explore how making art can help me navigate ADHD-PI, GAD, and perfectionism.
I’ll be sharing experimental artworks, creative exercises, artistic experiments, personal reflections, and the occasional beautifully chaotic attempt at letting go.
Think of it as an ongoing experiment in creativity, psychology, and imperfection.
Perhaps the greatest masterpiece I’ll ever create is learning to be comfortable with something that isn’t perfect.
Follow my journey on Medium. Come for the art; stay for the beautifully imperfect process.
